[COVERAGE] ImportExpo – Car Music Fest NJ

June 24th, 2022 by Elusive Media

ImportExpo returns to Island Dragway! And with this show being local to me, it was a must to attend. Weather was also perfect, sunny and 70F. As i was approaching the drag strip, no lie, a least a 1/2 mile away i could hear the music rumbling throughout the Great Meadows Valley. Once in side, you were pretty much blown away by some of these music setups and you could see why it be be heard from so far away. Everyone playing their music, getting their grill out, and cars lined up in circles, my ears and eyes just taking it all in. It was nothing that I’ve experience before. After trying to get my hearing back, I ventured into the car show. A wide verity of cars and ones I’ve never seen at other shows in the past. Always great to see new builds. After talking with the locals PD and staff, this show was larger than was expecting. And with it being Fathers Day, it sure did bring out the fans and participants. Enjoy the photos!

[COVERAGE] Carlisle Import & Performance Nationals

May 22nd, 2022 by Elusive Media

Carlisle Important & Performance Nationals is back! This year officially reached 1,802 cars that were on the showfield; which makes it the 3rd largest show to date! This has grown to be one of my favorite shows to attend and cover. Not only does it start off the car season strong, but there are so many unique vehicles that you just don’t see anywhere else. For example, the new 2023 Nissan Z was on display, one of the first outside of the auto shows. The Citroën 2CV is on a LA to Rome Roadtrip, 6,000+ miles, made a stop at the show. Another was the 1964 SER IIA 109 Dormobile Land Rrover, has travel the world. What great group to chat with! Be sure to take a look at the photos in the gallery! While not new this year, the passport check-ins are a great way to make sure you’ve explored the extensive fairgrounds and buildings. Drifting, Limbo, a new rolling burnout, passport models, onsite parades and tons of cars to check out….enjoy the photos!

[COVERAGE] Tuner Evolution York Fest

May 7th, 2022 by Elusive Media

Tuner Evolution return back where it all started, a long 15 years ago! While the first one was held at a baseball stadium in York, this one takes place at the York Expo Center. With over 1000 space for indoor and out door space, this show would of had a huge turn out. Weather sadly wasn’t playing to kindly to the first event of the year for me. A 2.5 hr drive there, was none stop rain and it continued to rain that whole day in York. All VIPs for outdoors were able to squeeze into the indoor location at least! While it was limited to only in doors, there was plenty of new cars to check from the winter break. It also good to see friends and catch up. The one thing that Tuner Evolution always brings is the best cars in the area, so be sure to check out over 10 of their events this year throughout the US.

September 18th, 2021 by Elusive Media

MotoAmerica returns to New Jersey! The 2.25Mile track has made some improvements since last year. Turn 3, 8 and 10 had payment patches replaced along with sealer along the whole track at Thunderbolt. It made for some great racing this weekend, especially with the Superbike Triple header(and fantastic weather)! We also so saw the return of Josh Herrin after catching covid before the last round. Two months away from racing, but after race one, he was able to get back on the podium for race two and three. Toni Elias was able to fight off Bobby Fong, with less than 2 tenth of a second splitting them for third in race one. Jake Gagne and Mathew Scholtz were able to secure 1st and 2nd for all three races! At the end of race weekend, Jake Gagne was able to secure his 16th straight win! And after this 2nd race he was able to secure his first Superbike Championship! Congratulations to the whole Fresh N’ Lean Attack Performance Yamaha team!

[COVERAGE] IMSA Six Hours of The Glen

July 11th, 2021 by Elusive Media

IMSA returns to Watkins Glen International! Last year never happened and it’s been 2 years since we’ve been able to attend the Six Hours of The Glen. This 4 day event is packed full of racing! Porsche Carrera Cup, Lamborghini Super Trofeo, Tioga Downs Casino Resort 240, and on the final day Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen! This track is massive, 3.4 miles and 11 corners. I hate to admit it, but this is my first time at the track and it sure won’t be my last. For the Six Hours of the Glen, 5 different classes race over the six hour length. DPi, LMP2, LMP3(new for 2021), GTLM, and GTD. With this many classes on track, the racing never seemed to end. Over takes are plentiful, and even with this length of a track, there is little time between another car flying by! Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen is the third event out of four that make up the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup. For the full results check out! If you enjoy camping and enjoy motorsports, this race weekend is a must! Book your spot early, because they sell quickly!

[COVERAGE] FormulaDRIFT: New Jersey The Gauntlet

June 30th, 2021 by Elusive Media

Formula Drift returns to Englishtown! But it’s no where near how you remember it. A few years back, the drag strip was no longer allowed to be used. Raceway Park does have a road course, which is used for many drift events, but FormulaD and Raceway park built it’s first dedicated drift track! It combines the track layout of Wall Township Raceway, but without the high banks. The figure eight now crisscrosses over what is left of the drag strip and drivers have to adjust to the different pavement changes. This would of been the second year, but due to Covid and NJ restrictions, the event had to move to 2021.
Arriving at 9am, the temp was already above 80 and sunny! It was going to be a scorcher and a long day of drifting! The paddock stretched all the way around the track with a car show taking up the front entrance. Round 2 of ProSpec battle was the first part of the day. They put on some epic battles with a dramatic ending for first and 2nd. Dmitriy Brutskiy taking 1st, Austin Matta taking 2nd after slamming into the final wall and his wheel getting ripped off! Nick Noback finish up 3rd in his E46 M3. With a short break between competitions, the Pro was up as the sun started to set. As we finish the driver introductions, national anthem and swore in cadets into Space Force(congrats to them!), no longer than 2 minutes after, light drizzle falls from the sky.
The Pro are about to start with a damp track that was dry all day. We all hoped that it was going to be short lived, the rain continued until the top 6 and it only started to dry out on the last battle. We all hoped for many close battles, but with the damp to soaked track, it was all about who could keep up the speed, angle, and without spinning out. The smoke was absent until the last battle, but sadly Christ Forsbergs NOS Energy – GT Radial Nissan 370Z was littered with issues this weekend. Replaced engine before qualifying and during the final ends up with electrical problems. It was amazing he made it, but still comes away with good points to keep the championship alive . Matt Field takes the win which makes is first FD Pro win in the Falken Tire – Drift Cave Chevrolet Corvette! With this win and points previous points leader finishing 9th, Field now leads the championship. Fredric Aasbo in his Rockstar Energy Drink Toyota GR Supra finishes the podium in 3rd. Looking forward to exciting next round in Erie, PA! See you there!

[COVERAGE] Turn14 4th Annual Pit Paddock Meet

June 23rd, 2021 by Elusive Media

4th Annual Car Meet at the Turn 14 Distribution center is back! This was the first time attending this meet, and i wasn’t sure what to expect. At first arrival, it looked like your typical car meet, lots of different cars and styles. The car show went all the way around the warehouse, and this is no small setup. As i walked around to the back, I was surprised to see the vast amount of vendors on display. We also had food trucks and 2 DJs spread around the perimeter of the meet. When you attend be sure to take a peak inside the warehouse, it’s pretty impressive operation to say the least!
