Stew and I head to the new “Giants”…err Jets Stadium for MiniCamp. This was the New York Jets first appearance in the brand new $1.6 Billion stadium. This is quite the cost considering the last stadium cost $78 million in 1978. Even though the new stadium has only increased seating capacity by a few thousand, 82,500, this makes it the 3rd largest NFL stadium.  With dynamic LED signs in a 360 view, 4 massive in-stadium videoboards, plus 2,100 HD monitors, no matter where a fan is, you won’t be missing any of  the touchdowns.

(one of the 4 videoboards)

The Minicamp was open to fans at no cost. Watch them run plays, drills, maybe score a few signatures from your favorite player, or Cheerleader; yes, the cheerleaders were there to get fans excited for an exciting new season.  Practice started at 11:30am, but gates opened at 9:30am to allow fans to tour their new home and maybe purchase some season tickets. If you missed out on the MiniCamp, The Jets will be playing their first game August 16th, against Team “Big Blue”, the NY Giants in a preseason primetime matchup. I look forward to an exciting new season for both New York teams.
