Long Beach, Calif. – June 16, 2009 – Formula DRIFT introduces the 2009 Miss Formula DRIFT, Miki Taka. Taka is an experienced model, TV host, and DJ has been chosen as the official spokesmodel for Formula DRIFT and will be at the remaining 4 events of the season.
Originally from Nagoya, Japan, Taka is a Japanese-American that currently resides in Columbus, OH. She is pursuing her degree in Criminal Law, while establishing herself as an import model with Prestigious Models. She has been featured in other events including NHRA, Goodguys, Hot Import Nights, Professional Bull Riders Tour (PBR), Tuaca Body Art Ball and now adds to her resume the title of Miss Formula DRIFT.
“Being chosen as Miss Formula DRIFT is a real honor,” says Miki Taka, 2009 Miss Formula DRIFT. “I am a huge fan of motorsports and look forward to this experience of a lifetime.”
Aside from modeling Taka has appeared in numerous television and film productions such as on VERSUS, Driftstyle on SPEED, and on Nickelodeon, where she interviewed celebrities. Taka is also a featured DJ at the hottest clubs around the country.
Miki is an avid automotive enthusiast and can be found wrenching on her own personal cars, a Lexus IS300 and Acura Integra.
“Miki is the perfect fit to be the 2009 Miss Formula DRIFT,” says Ryan Sage, vice-president of marketing and co-founder of Formula DRIFT. “Her passion for cars and motorsports makes her a great representative for the series.”

EM: First of all, thank you for giving www.elusivemedia.com the time of day with
answering these questions. So, who got you started or how did you get started into
modeling?
CA: I have always gone to a lot of car and bike shows bc they are passions of mine.
So I always saw all the girls working at the booths. During one show I was asked by
one of the booths to work at another show for them. After that I started working
alot of car and bike shows. Then I started expanding and doing other types of
modeling as well. But car and bike shows are still my favorite.
EM: At the show, you looked like you were having a lot of fun. Do you enjoy
modeling? Who rubs your feet after the show?* *just kidding, you do not have to
answer that. But standing in high heels all day can’t be fun.
CA: I always have fun at the car shows. Who wouldn’t. Fast cars and hot girls.
What could be better. And yes my feet definitely hurt after the shows. All day in
6″ heels… ouch!
EM: What event or show have you enjoyed the most so far this year? What future
events will you be attending?
CA: The HIN shows are always a good time. There’s always a great turn out. But
Formula Drift was a lot of fun as well. I would love to learn how to drift! I have
a lot of shows this summer. Keep checking back to my myspace to see where I’ll be

EM: On a typical weekend, where can we find you or what are you doing when you’re
not modeling?
CA: When I’m not modeling, I’m on the sportbike. I have a GSXR 1000 that I spend
all my warm days on.
EM: Do you see yourself making a career of modeling? Outside of modeling,do you have
any other career aspirations?
CA: Definitely. I love modeling. I would also like to open my own bike shop
someday. I’m in college right now for marketing and hopefully will be able to start
my own business in the future.

| ElusiveMedia: You seem to enjoy being a model, what got you started? Do you see yourself doing this for the long term? |
| Kristy: I wanted to do a photoshoot with my boyfriend, Eric's car while he was on deployment. I contacted a friend and found a local photographer, set it up, did the shoot, and here I am. 🙂 I would love to continue modeling for as long as I can. |
| EM: So did modeling come naturally to you? |
| Kristy: I guess you could say that. I just have fun and be myself at the shoot. I'm pretty comfortable in front of the camera. |
| EM: What is the best part about being a model besides cameras snapping at you nonstop? |
| Kristy: It was definitely a confidence booster for me. It's nice getting compliments all the time. 🙂 |
| EM: Do you see yourself making a career of modeling? |
| Kristy: Hmm..I don't know about that. I love doing it and all, but it's really hard to find the time to dedicate to it right now. I have a full time job and really like working in accounting. If I had the time I would love to though.We'll play it by ear and hopefully it all works out! |
| EM: Outside of modeling, do you have any other career aspirations? |
| Kristy: I love what I do. I love working with military families. I'm kind of a nerd when it comes to numbers and math so accounting fits me perfectly. 🙂 |
| EM: What is the most awkward moment you've encountered in modeling? |
| Kristy: I don't know if I've really encountered anything that awkward yet. The closest to awkward I guess was at the shoot w/ Eric's car. It was freezing cold and I was half naked by a warehouse doing the shoot and some old lady drove up and gave me and the photographer a "shame on you" look and pointed at us to leave. haha! |

| Kristy: Getting my invitation to Hot August Nights at the Playboy Mansion. 🙂 |
| EM: On a typical weekend, where can we find you or what are you doing when you're not modeling? |
| Kristy: On the weekends I'm usually with Eric at car meets and/or shows, working w/ a couple promo companies, or just hanging out with friends. |
| EM: What do you have a weakness for? |
| Kristy: Ben & Jerry's Americone Dream ice cream…HANDS DOWN! haha |
| EM: What message do you have to aspiring models trying to start out in the industry? |
| Kristy: Don't do anything you are not comfortable with. If you're not comfortable with it, it will show in the picture. Be yourself and have fun. |
| EM: Do you drive the IS much? |
| Kristy: I drive it as much as Eric will let me!! I'm not sure how often that will be once the turbo install is complete. haha |

| Alicia Whiiten: Yeah I absolutely love it! I got started through a company called High End. I was always at their shop drooling over their cars and they asked me to model for them one year at Hot Import Night and it just took off from there! |
| EM: When did you first meet Corissa? |
| AW: I believe I met her when I first started the tour at HIN. We picked her up to go to a club. Who would of ever thought we would have been stuck together for a year. Lol It's awesome. |
| EM: You two are an awesome team, who has the most fans? |
| AW: Don't really pay attention to that… I noticed that my fans love her and her fans love me too because they look at both of us as a team and we both are really down to earth girls. |
| EM: Are any of you into cars? |
| AW: Haha hell yeah. Me and Corissa are both in love with cars. It's awesome to be paired with another girl who loves cars as much as I do. It is such an amazing opportunity to be able to model around cars all day. |
| EM: What do you currently drive? Any plans to tune it? |
| AW: I currently drive a Scion tC and I am in the process of modifying it. So far I have my strut bar, header and exhaust. Needs a lot more work tho! |
| EM: What’s your dream car right now? |
| AW: I would love to have the new R35 or Rx-7 FD |
| EM: What’s the most exciting event/location you have done so far this year? |
| AW: Hmm I think I would have to say Chicago. I dunno every new place has been pretty exciting for me since touring to new places has been such a huge goal in my life. |
| EM: Anything embarrassing ever happen at events? Want to share what happened with us? |
| AW: I tried to climb over the table to take a picture with a fan and I almost fell over. lol |
| EM: Drifting seems to be really popular right now, do you like it? Have you tried drifting? Have a favorite driver? Do I like it? |
| AW: Omg I love drifting so much! And yes I have tried drifting before, I tried in an Rx-7 fc. If I had a drift car I would so love to learn how to drift professionally! Haha so if there is any sponsors who want a girl drifter I am so down for the task! My favorite drivers are Chris Forsberg and Ken Nomura aka Nomuken. |
| EM: So, when you are not at shows/events what is a typical day for you? |
| AW: Hanging out with my adorable son, going to the beach, hanging out with friends, watching movies etc. I pretty much down for anything fun, I love doing many things that involve the outdoors. |
| EM: Anything else you want your fans to know? |
| AW: I honestly can't describe how much I appreciate all of your support! I never thought I could get this far and you guys gave me so much hope. I wish I could personally thank each and everyone of you for everything. Nos Energy drink thank you so much! 😀 |

| I started attending car shows at first just for fun. When I would go, everyone would think I was a model there. I loved all the attention I got, and figured I should try it out for myself. | |

| Modeling came really naturally to me. I was a little nervous at my first real show, but when I got there, I was surprised at how easy it was for me. I ended up having a great time, and now I absolutely love it! | |

| I really would like to make a career out of modeling, but it's such a competitive field. For now, I'm just doing it as a sort of part-time job. | |
| Outside of modeling, do you have any other career aspirations? | |
| Yes, my career aspiration is actually to become a cosmetic surgeon. I'm in school now as a biology major, and I hope to get into medical school next year. Unless I get a really amazing modeling offer, I'm going to keep this as my main goal! | |

| I love to go shopping! It's an addiction. If I'm not modeling or at school, I'm at the mall wasting my money. | |

| Don't give up! It's a really tough field to get started in, and if you get turned down for a few jobs at first, don't get discouraged. You just have to keep pushing yourself, and applying for everything, and eventually you'll get a break. | |
