[Coverage] RIX Magazine StreetFest 2.0

October 15th, 2017 by Elusive Media

One of the shows I’ve been looking forward to covering and with great weather to kick off the event, you know it was going to be well worth drive and wait to get into the parking garage! RIX Magazine has been in the car scene as far as I can remember and has always been showcasing the hottest cars & models on paper, online and in person. StreetFest 1.0 was a success in April and from all the chatter I’ve been hearing at other events, I knew StreetFest 2.0 would be huge! With over 700 cars and 3000 attendees, this show did not disappoint. There was a wide arrange of cars & trucks for you to check out; exotics, imports, classics, hot rods, track, race, etc. The rooftop of the garage had a stage for a DJ Battle which kept the music going along with a few singers. One of the last events of the night was the Two Step, which should always be done at night! Not only did the cars sound great, but the flames that were produced on these cars… wow! It was a crowd pleaser!! We also can’t forget about the models and vendors that were spread across all show floors. There was plenty to keep you busy! Let’s hope they come back with a 3.0 in the spring!

[COVERAGE] Stancewars New Jersey

September 25th, 2017 by Elusive Media

Metlife Stadium, just a short drive from New York city hosted StanceWars first east coast event! Welcome to the Tri-State! This show was unlike any other that I’ve covered in the past. It definitely had its west coast feel. A couple couches on the stage where later in the night the StanceWar staff would present awards and a “Couch Talk” segment during the day. The show consists of a Top 100 along with VIP select cars, along with great vendors and sponsors. No dragging out this show, it was a total of four hours. They want spectators and everyone in the show to enjoy it! Since the show started at 4PM and the sunset was close to 7 PM, it made for some fun ever-changing shooting conditions! While there are other Limbo events at shows, having the setting sun really made it have a unique feel. If the couches didn’t give you the idea, the show overall it had a pretty relaxed vibe. I’m not sure if this is a west coast thing, but Mike who runs StanceWars even went the extra mile to say hi and thanks to every car leaving the show. It will be exciting to see what they changed from next year. If you missed this year’s event don’t worry, they will be back next year! Until then, enjoy what the east coast brought to the show! [COVERAGE] MPACT 2017 Motorsports Festival and Car Show

August 22nd, 2017 by Elusive Media

MPACT returns to the famous Pocono Raceway for packed day of motorsport activities and a place to show off your latest build in the paddock. This unique event not only attracts the hottest ///M cars, but many exotics and high powered track day cars! High Performance Driver Education(HPDE) was there all day for drivers that signed up. National Auto Sport Association(NASA) had everything from beginner to expect levels so you can truly enjoy your car. If you wanted to check out your top speed, the 1800′ side by side rolling race is a huge crowed pleaser with one driving breaking the 200mph mark!! Drivers who signed up for this could roll race all day! Though if you weren’t ready to take your car to the track, you were able to take a ride with Sarli Motorsports Drift Taxi; S62 supercharged engine and sliding sideways is pretty exhilarating! On the opposite end, if you came to abuse your set of rear tires, the crowd judged burnout content is a great place for it. For myself, I didn’t get a chance to partake in any of the events with my car, but i did thoroughly enjoyed playing the MPACT Sim Racing Experience by Crimon Simulation; the setup everyone wishes they had at home! To break up all these activities throughout the day, i always like to visit the vendors (for the show discounts of course) and browse through the paddock to see which new cars showed up. While talking to car owners(new attendees) in the paddock, there was one common thing they all said, “I can’t wait to come back next year! It was such a good time!”. i love hearing that MPACT continues to grow and bring more car enthusiast together. Onto many more years of successful for the MPACT team!

[Remembering] Nicky Hayden 1981-2017

May 29th, 2017 by Elusive Media

Devastated and in total shock! A few days after arriving home from Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix, i was notified that Nicky Hayden, the 2006 MotoGP World Champion had passed after his cycle accident 5 days prior. As I look up at his first MotoGP victory photo hanging on my wall, it’s hard to absorb that we all won’t be seeing that infectious smile and personality that we all grew to love.

I started to become a Nicky Hayden fan when i started following MotoGP in 2005, which was just a few years after getting my first motorcycle. And of course at the time he was 1 of 2 riders that was American, on the factor Repsol Honda(I road Honda at the time), and we were only a few weeks difference in age. How could I not become a Nicky Hayden fan? Once Indianapolis GP came on the race calendar, it was time to see & hear these motorcycles in person, along with see my favorite rider, Nicky!! Over the years I would attend every IndyGP and a few in Austin. I was lucky enough to have some conversations with him over the years, even with his limited time during a race weekend. He was always happy, motivated, determined to do his best week in and week out and that was one of my many reason I looked up to him.

He will be missed not just because of his racing background, but because of the person he was! His memory will live on between his family, friends, and millions fans! RIP Nicky! #

Here are some of my favorite photos that I’ve taken of Nicky over the years! So many great memories! #RideOnKentuckyKid

[COVERAGE] Clean Culture: NJ Season Opener

May 28th, 2017 by Elusive Media

Car season in the north east is just warming up and the best way to do that is with proper show and drag! The original date was 2 weeks ago, but was rained out. I was in Spain for the Formula One race, so seeing this rescheduled when returning home was great! This event is as local as it can get for me, nearly 5 miles away, so it was great to come out and support my local drag strip as well. Drag strip was open for three hours, and it was run what you brought. Great for anyone that wanted to battle a buddy, practice, or test a new build you’ve been working on all winter long. We also had a burnout and two step competition; the energy from the crowd around the cars was fantastic! And of course there were cars coming in all day til dusk, so there was something to check out and photograph all day long! As the sun set, Island prepares the track once again for the official drag competition with first place walking with $2500! Props to Clean Culture for starting the season right!!

[COVERAGE] Formula One Spanish Grand Prix

May 19th, 2017 by Elusive Media

Formula One returns to Europe with an exciting amount of overtakes for first position. If you were seated in turn one, you got some to see some great overtakes and some unfortunate crashes that took out some favorite drivers. Right from the start, Sebastian Vettel who started from pole outpaced Lewis Hamilton to the first corner and takes the lead. Where as Valtteri Bottas touches Kimi Raikkonen going into turn one, which in return sends Raikkonen colliding into Max Verstappen. Kimi and Max are forced to retire. Felipe Massa gets a tire puncture going into the first corner and slides into the gravel; all this going into the first corner of the first lap! After a few laps things start to settle and drivers get into a rhythm. Lap 10, Vettel is 2 seconds head of Hamilton, but the race is far from over. After a pit stop by both drivers, Hamilton was able to switch to the softer compound, where Vettel had already used it earlier in the race. Hamilton is able to cut the gap in half from the pit stop and is now able to fight for the win. With the first attempt to overtake, both drivers make contact and Hamilton is push off course. But with only 20 laps remaining, Hamilton in his Mercedes is able to overtake Vettel. Sadly the German wasn’t able to keep the same pace as Hamilton and was able to secure his 2nd win this season! Ricciardo was able to take 3rd spot after Valtteri Bottas’s failed engine and and the collisions that happened at the start of the race. Its not the way Red Bull Racing wanted to take 3rd, as their recent upgrades showed little to no improvement against the other teams.

1st Lewis Hamilton – Mercedes
2nd Sebastian Vettel – Ferrari
3rd Daniel Ricciardo – Red Bull Racing
