[COVERAGE] DESMO Picnic & Bike Show

September 5th, 2020 by Elusive Media

DESMO BBQ…or rather Picnic this year has returned! 2020 has be an interesting year with many events posposted until next year, but thankfully things have opened up slightly to allow us to get together with our DESMO brothers and sisters. Who knows what will happens for the DESMO End of the Year dinner, so i’m happy to see some familiar faces and meeting some new ones! This year, location changed and it happens to be on the same weekend as New York International Air Show, which was taking places just a few miles away. We had plenty on the ground and in the sky to keep us entertained! Love the sounds of the Ducati’s pulling in and the F22/F35s flying overhead!

[COVERAGE] MPACT Motorsports Festival – 10 Years

August 31st, 2020 by Elusive Media

MPACT East has officially turned double digits! MPACT Motorsport Festival and Car Show takes place in the Pocono Mountains at the iconic Pocono Speedway. It is August and it’s officially my first event of the summer! Yes, Covid-19 had cancelled all my previous events, but thankfully as the summer continued, rules allowed for outdoor venues to open, and the speedway was the perfect place to space everyone out! For a quick history lesson, MPACT started in 2011 and the first 3 years were located downtown Inner Harbor, Baltimore, Maryland. It was also a show where you could also run your car, not just park it. Taking place at the M&T Bank Stadium parking lot, half the lot was show and the other half was setup for Auto-X. In 2014 the show moved to the Pocono Mountains at the 2.5 mile Pocono Raceway. In my eyes this is when the show really became the Festival as we know it today. Drifting, Multiple track configurations with NASA HPDE, 1800′ Roll Racing, burnout, and of course a Judged Car Show. And don’t forget the fantastic drive to the raceway, 2hours from Philadelphia and New York City. Many caravans to join in on the drive up! Now Back to 2020, This year is number 10! And with Covid still keeping many restrictions, this was the first event for many people to attend. By early afternoon, there were drivers waiting hours to get in! But once you filled out your covid and safety form, you were greeted with those sweet engine noises, that we all missed as you came out of the Pocono Raceway Tunnel. Fantastic work from the MPACT team for pulling off this event during the extra challenging times. I’m happy to say I’ve been to all 10 and looking forward to see what they have planned for the future!

Be sure to check out the last 10years!

[COVERAGE] American Flat Track Meadowlands Mile – Inaugural

October 31st, 2018 by Elusive Media

The inaugural American Flat Track Meadowlands Mile event presented by Ducati has two classes, Single & Twin with speeds that go well into the triple digits was located in New Jersey with a view of New York City in the distance. While I spoke with many fans that were local, there was an impressive amount of fans that were traveling from outside the Tri-State area considering the rainy damp weather. As night sets and the track light reflects of the mist in the air, the heats continue and we are ready some nail biting finishes in the main events! The Single main event, 1st and 2nd were .006 between each other, the top 4 places in the Twin event were all within .800 of each other! With 15 and 25 laps races, any slip up would of knocked you off the podium. I know I’m looking forward to this event next year. It’s good to see Flat Track racing so close to home!

[COVERAGE] Inaugural BMW E46 M3 East Meet

October 1st, 2018 by Elusive Media

Finally the weather has corroborated with us and the 1st E46M3 meet is in the books! As most shows this summer, weather played a huge part. The first sold out meet was cancelled due to poor conditions, but reschedule for this fall, and it was well worth the wait. With perfect driving weather and temperature, this once again sold out (reserved parking) meet was held out at the Palisades Lookout state park. I’ve never been to this location, but it sits atop massive cliffs that over looks the Hudson River with New York City to your south. I’m not sure of the official number, but e46M3’s were lined up along the old RT9W and there were cars traveling hours away to join in. It was fantastic to see so many different spec’d cars together. Enjoy all the CSL/OEM/modded hotness and see you back here next year!

[COVERAGE] MotoAmerica New Jersey Round 9

September 14th, 2018 by Elusive Media

MotoAmerica continues at New Jersey Motorsports Park with many championships ready to be clinched, but with heavy rain and winds, mother nature wasn’t going to make it easy! This weekend reminded me of my first time attending MotoGP back in 2008 at Indianapolis, a Tropical storm race day. In this occasion, this was my first time attending MotoAmerica and both days mother nature was relentless in not giving us a dry race, But this did not stop everyone from viewing some top class racing. It’s still amazing me every time witness see a wet race and how fast these rides can go lap after lap on the edge. The next time you see a bad forecast for a race weekend at MotoAmerica, don’t worry, racing will continue and you will be in awe!

Congrats to Cameron Beaubier (Monster Energy/Yamalube/Yamaha Factory Racing) for taking this years 2018 Motul Superbike Championship (His third time), Alex Dumas (Monster Energy/Yamaha Extended Service/Graves/Yamaha) to clinching his Liqui Moly Junior Cup Championship and Andrew Lee (KTM Orange Brigade/JP43 Training) for securing his Stock 1000 Championship!

A special shout-out to Roger Hayden! He’s retiring after the next round in MotoAmerica and 20 years of racing motorcycles competitively. It was fantastic to see him race over the years along with seeing him racing in some wildcards in the past; MotoGP and Moto2. This also marks an end of an era for the 3 Hayden brothers. I will miss cheering them on from either the TV or attending a race!
